Music | Ages 7-11
11 and 12 September
11am - 12pm: Performance 1
1pm - 2pm : Performance 2
Live Symphonic music is a thrilling experience for all ages. For Children especially, studies* have shown listening and engaging with orchestral music to have a positive emotional response with children feeling calm, relaxed and engaged regardless of what is being played. Many children also feel inspired to learn an instrument after attending such events.
MSO INSPIRE is collaborating with Due Drop Events Centre to bring four short, entertaining concerts to school children from 7-11 years old across South Auckland. The orchestra will play popular and fun tunes alongside narrated stories with music. A special feature will be an arrangement of ‘The Emperor and the Nightingale’ by iconic NZ children’s composer Jenny McLeod’s. This musical fairy tale will be narrated by New Zealand's most beloved children's presenter Suzy Cato.
