This songwriting competition is presented by Play It Strange with The Due Drop Events Centre and Vector Wero Whitewater Park. This competition is to celebrate the building of New Zealand's first facility to offer an artificial river and water course for recreation, sports, emergency services training, school programmes and youth development.

The competition is open to school students – individuals and groups – in the Auckland region. There are two divisions:

 

Primary and Intermediate (Yrs 1-8)

Secondary Schools (Yrs 9-13)
