For the Greater Good

"We serve more than 51,000 children through fully or partially subsidised programmes every year," said Joseph Casalme, GM Community and Schools Engagement, when he received the very first industry award given by AUT recognising Outstanding Contribution to the Events and Tourism Community last 6 December 2018 at AUT University in the CBD.

"We host more than 40,000 students through the Vodafone Events Centre, majority of whom are students from low decile schools. We also continue to offer the largest free creative arts programmes delivered by a venue in partnership with the Ministry of Education's Learning Experience Outside the Classroom (LEOTC) Programme."

"At Vector Wero, we work with Water Safety New Zealand, Aktive Auckland Sport and Recreation, and John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams, to deliver fully subsidised water safety and sports programmes for more than 6,000 low decile school students. All in all, we serve nearly 12,000 through the water park."

Joseph highlighted the vision of the Board of Trustees led by its chairman, Sir Noel Robinson KNZM, and also thanked the Trust's new CEO, David Comery, and the whole team.

"I share this recognition with the team. It takes massive resources to operate and deliver our programmes and we have a fantastic team at Second Nature. We're deeply committed to grow our programmes and to benefit every single student in Auckland."
